A recent study that a compared the heart rate of viewers watching identical 2D and stereoscopic 3D content revealed that when watching stereoscopic 3D the heart beats an average of 8% faster. As well as the enhanced perception of depth, it is also possible to make viewers feel uncomfortable, dizzy and add a greater sense of motion if required by the scene.
Advertising
Stereoscopic 3D advertising is the most powerful way of delivering visual communication to potential consumers across the world. You can literally make your product or message appear as if it was directly in front of the viewers face. Earlier in the year Sky launched their commercial 3D service in 300 leisure locations across the UK. Initially there was a very limited service showing just one sporting event every Saturday, despite this there was an increase of sales and customers in the chosen venues of between 300%-500%.
