Stereoscopic 3D CGI and Animation

Stereoscopic 3D CGI

Stereoscopic 3D CGI is an excellent and cost effective way to enter the medium. It is often possible to reuse large parts of CGI scenes and re-render them in the stereoscopic 3D format by using one of our virtual stereoscopic camera rigs.

In particular advertising has heavily adopted the use of CGI heavily and the ease of creating stereoscopic 3D content using this method means our studio can produce media for the same price as standard CGI content. Our design team uses industry leading software including 3DS Max, Maya and Softimage XSI.

Uses of Stereoscopic 3D CGI and Animation

Many types of CGI content can be produced in the stereoscopic 3D format, currently the most popular uses are:

 - Stereoscopic 3D Short and Feature Animations
 - Stereoscopic 3D Cartoons
 - Stereoscopic 3D Childrens Programmes
 - Stereoscopic 3D Advertisements
 - Stereoscopic 3D Corporate Communication
 - Stereoscopic 3D Infomercials
 - Stereoscopic 3D Digital Signage

We view stereoscopic 3D as a display technique and as such the uses can extend to anything that is shown in 2D. If you require content for a use that is not on there we will be able to create it for you.

Following HD, 3D is the next stage in the evolution of TV technology and in particular there are many reasons for creating entertainment and advertising content in the medium.

Entertainment

There is currently a global shortage of true stereoscopic 3D content. We are approached almost daily by broadcaster across the world looking for more diverse and appealing stereoscopic 3D content. Consumers are happy to pay a premium at the cinema for stereoscopic 3D content and a recent report by Futuresource has found that the sales of stereoscopic 3D TV sets are considerably higher than HD TVs at the same point in the life cycle.

The immersion of stereoscopic 3D content means it is an excellent story telling tool that a director can use to interact with the audience. A recent study that a compared the heart rate of viewers watching identical 2D and stereoscopic 3D content revealed that when watching stereoscopic 3D the heart beats an average of 8% faster. As well as the enhanced perception of depth, it is also possible to make viewers feel uncomfortable, dizzy and add a greater sense of motion if required by the scene.

Advertising

Stereoscopic 3D advertising is the most powerful way of delivering visual communication to potential consumers across the world. You can literally make your product or message appear as if it was directly in front of the viewers face. Earlier in the year Sky launched their commercial 3D service in 300 leisure locations across the UK. Initially there was a very limited service showing just one sporting event every Saturday, despite this there was an increase of sales and customers in the chosen venues of between 300%-500%.

This is an opportunity your brand, product or service can't afford to miss and we will create a 2D version of your media for no extra cost. Our design team is able to create a stereoscopic 3D advertisement from concept through to delivery and can do so at a reasonable cost when compared to the equivalent 2D advert.

Formats

Stereografix are experts in all types of Stereoscopic technology which means we can create or convert content for use on "Active", "Passive" and "Glasses-Free" Stereoscopic 3D technology.

Why Choose Stereografix?

A combination of the lack of knowledge in stereoscopic 3d science, technology and production techniques with the current economic climate means there are very few studios that have dared to venture in the medium. Most of our team have been working with the technology before the current "hype" and are here to make it possible for you to realise your project in stereoscopic 3D at a reasonable cost.
